TERMINOLOGY
Aged
or composting, this process kills any pathogens and weed seeds that might have been present. It breaks down the cellulose contained in the raw material rendering it a less attractive home for termites and fire ants after it is applied. It helps the mulch hold moisture better and stabilizes the carbon content of the material which also makes it fire resistant. Also naturally turns the material into a beautiful deep chocolate brown color.
Screening
Is used to separate compost particle sizes (similar to sifting flour) by removing possible contaminates allowing for a beautiful, consistent product.
Native Mulch
At Nature’s Way Resources we were the first to introduce Native Mulches to Texas and had to petition to get them listed as a separate class of mulch. We were also the first to compost our mulches to concentrate nutrients and kill weed seeds and any possible pathogens.
