The name Leaf Mold comes from the old English words “Leaf Mould” which means produced by a very slow breakdown of leaves (from trees and shrubs) into rich humus. After a long slow composting period of 18-24 months the compost is screened to ensure consistency and size.
Recommended use:
Annual or bi-annual maintenance:
Top Dressing: Each year, add a 1/2 to 1/4 inch layer of leaf mold compost to the surface of the soil as a top dressing. This helps to maintain soil fertility and structure. Over time, the compost will work its way down into the soil through natural processes like rainfall and microbial activity.
