Native Mulch Coarse

Our Native Mulch Coarse is crafted from a diverse array of hardwood trees indigenous to our region, creating a mix abundant in buds, shoots, leaves, and cambium layers.

This distinctive blend enriches the mulch with exceptional nutrients, surpassing conventional bark mulches. We begin by grinding the entire tree and composting it for 9-12 months, carefully screening it for uniformity.

Our composted mulch offers a dual benefit, serving both as an effective soil insulator and a nutrient-rich compost. Screened to 3/4 inch.

This is the highest quality mulch one can use in their landscape. It's been composted for a long period of time so it naturally has a beautiful dark chocolate brown color. It is teaming with beneficial microbes that help plants grow strong and beautiful and is one of the best ways to create healthy soil in one's landscape. We process our mulch in way that it contains at least a 50% fungal rich compost content ensuring the maximum benefit to our customers. It is available in two sizes. Over time the microbes living in this mulch can turn heavy clay into a beautiful loamy soil and help sandy soils retain moisture.

The coarse mulch differs from the medium mulch in that it offers greater longevity, superior weed suppression capabilities, and is slightly lighter color.

RECOMMENDED USE:

Adding 2 to 3 inches of mulch on the top layer.

Over time organic mulches improve the fertility and physical structure of the soils they cover. As they decay they release the nutrients they hold. In a healthy soil with a good quality mulch, about 2/3 should decompose in a one year time frame. If one applied a 3 inch layer of a good mulch then one year later there should only be about one inch left. The remaining mulch will break down at a much slower rate providing other long term benefits to the soil.
